Report: Scarsdale Dining Dust-Up Turns Ugly

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A loud disturbance involving Al Pirro, estranged husband of former Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro, and his entourage disrupted diners Saturday night at Massa', 2 Weaver St., according to a report in Monday's New York Post.

According to the report, which quoted anonymous sources, Albert Pirro threw a punch at a waiter and threatened to have people killed.

Starting in 2000, Al Pirro served 17 months of a 29-month federal prison sentence for tax fraud.

The Post story said the disturbance started when a member of Pirro's group accused a restaurant worker of stealing his cell phone. The staff member denied it, and the diner challenged him to go outside and fight. The story quoted the source as saying that staff members quieted the man, but things flared again and the 64-year-old Pirro jumped into the fray, hurling threats and punching a waiter.

Attempts to contact Pirro on Monday were unsuccessful. Pirro is the owner of the Pirro Group business consulting and real estate development firm in White Plains.

Massa' owner Francesco Coli declined to comment on the matter beyond confirming the Pirro was a customer Saturday night. Coli said he was not at the restaurant Saturday night and knew nothing beyond "hearsay."

Scarsdale police Lt. Thomas Altizio said no one called the police about the incident Saturday.

"They did not report anything that allegedly occurred Saturday," Altizio said. "We reached out today to make sure" the restaurant did not want to pursue the matter, he said, but restaurant management declined.
