SCARSDALE, N.Y. - A Metro-North train on the Harlem line may have struck someone Tuesday morning, causing delays for commuters.
"Harlem Line Customers traveling through the vicinity of Hartsdale may experience delays due to police activity in the area," Metro-North reported on its website. "As more information becomes available we will notify you as soon as possible. Please listen for announcements at your station."
At about 9:30 a rescue train arrived for those on the stalled train. Passengers used a ramp to get from one train to the other.
One commuter told The Daily Voice that the train she was riding on was delayed just south of Hartsdale. Riders were told their train "struck a trespasser."
Metro-North cut power to the first rail and was sending a rescue train. Riders at around 8:30 a.m. were told told they were waiting for a northbound train to come and then would do a 'train to train' transfer.
