Jewelry Taken In Two Scarsdale Home Burglaries

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Jewelry was taken over the weekend in two separate Scarsdale home burglaries, according to reports released by the Scarsdale Police.

At 10:31 p.m. on Saturday, homeowners at 17 Eton Road reported that they had just returned home from the movies to find a glass broken in a rear door. Police checked the house and found someone had gone through the master bedroom and bathroom, and the homeowners said several items of jewelry were missing. They told police they would come up with a list and try to provide photos. No value was reported for the missing pieces.

On Friday, homeowners at 9 Wheelock Road reported at 11:25 p.m. they returned home and noticed their glass sliding door had been smashed. Police found cabinet doors in the dining room opened and the master bedroom suite tossed, with clothing thrown about. There were jewelry boxes emptied on the floor, according to the police report.

When the homeowners were brought into the room, they noticed several pieces of jewelry and several watches missing. They also discovered that silverware had been stolen from the dining room cabinet.

Detectives are continuing to investigate. Both burglarized homes had alarms but they were not turned on.
