Housing, Lending Bias Still An Issue In Westchester, Study Finds

Housing and lending discrimination are still an issue in Westchester County, two reports issued this week said, according to lohud.com.

Westchester Residential Opportunities released the results of two studies this week that prove housing and lending discrimination are still a problem in the area.

The reports were released by advocacy group Westchester Residential Opportunities and funded by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, lohud.com noted.

Forty-six percent of lenders and 31 percent of apartment renters and house buyers tested were found to have "disparate treatment on the basis of race, national origin, disability or familial status," the reports said, reported lohud.com.

The lending study covered 2013 and 2014 while the housing study covered 2012 through 2015, lohud.com said.
