Original report, Wednesday 9 p.m.

Authorities are searching for a 72-year-old woman with dementia and heart trouble who has been missing since Wednesday afternoon and is in need of medical attention.

Elizabeth Shaw was last seen about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at her Alhambra Road home in the Nassau County hamlet of Baldwin, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, which issued a Missing Vulnerable Adult Alert soon after her disappearance.

Shaw is believed to be traveling on foot. She was last seen wearing a black, long sleeved shirt; black pants and a black bag in which she carried her medication with an IV in her right arm, according to authorities.

She previously lived in Queens and may be attempting to make her way back the borough, authorities said.
