Yoga Tots Headlines Children’s Programs At Scarsdale Library

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Toddlers ages 3-5 can have fun "playing yoga" during Yoga Tots, a new program at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Scarsdale Public Library.

The program combines traditional yoga poses, props and engaging songs to build confidence, and motor and relaxation skills. Registration is required at the library website

Kiddie Kabaret, led by Nancie Schnur, the popular monthly program for toddlers ages 1½ to 3½, returns at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The program uses puppets and songs, both traditional and original, for the enjoyment of children and caregivers. 

Later that day at 4 p.m., Traditional Tuesday Storytime features stories and rhymes designed specifically for ages 3 1/2 to 5. 

On Thursday, Oct. 22, Mother Goose for Walkers Up to Age Two will be at 10:30 a.m. This language-enrichment program uses rhymes, songs and stories to stimulate listening, learning, speaking and reading skills. Mother Goose for Walkers is limited to the first 20 appropriately aged children. Attendees must have a ticket, which are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to Scarsdale cardholders in the Children’s Room before the start of each session. Children are limited to attend one session of Mother Goose per week. 

Needlemania!, a crochet club for kids, will continue at 4 p.m. Thursday Oct. 22. This is for children in grades three and up who will have an opportunity to learn the basics or show off their existing skills while meeting new friends. The program will continue every Thursday through Nov. 5. Registration is required at www.scarsdalelibrary.org

Mother Goose for Pre-walkers will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23. Registration is not required.
