Magagna Hyde worked as a fashion illustrator for 40 years, including for Henri Bendel at the time that Burrows was a designer there. Her drawings depict Burrows' slinky styles of the '70s, when his creations influenced and were influenced by the glamorous disco world developing at dance clubs such as Studio 54.

The New York Times described Burrows as "the brightest star of American fashion." He dressed many of the pop culture figures of the day, including Cher, Diana Ross and Liza Minnelli.

Magagna Hyde is also a portraitist and children's book illustrator.
