The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at the JCC, 999 Wilmot Road.

Volunteers are needed to help pack donated food, clothing, and other necessities that will be distributed to organizations serving the county’s needy, the JCC said.

Ongoing volunteer opportunities hosted by the JCC include: Amazing Readers, a program which provides tutoring for schoolchildren in Mount Vernon; April’s Child, formerly the Child Abuse Prevention Center of New York, which offers support to struggling parents and families; and the Knitzvah Corps, which meets monthly to schmooze and knit or crochet baby clothing and chemo caps to donate to those in need.

To find out about other JCC’s volunteer needs, call Elizabeth Lampert at (914)-472-3300, ext. 703, or email engage@jccmw.org.
