Intense Allergy Season Is In Store For Scarsdale

Stock up on the facial tissue and allergy meds, folks; health experts say we’re in for an intense – and much longer – red eye and sniffles season this spring.

According to a report by CBS, plants are growing like crazy because of the rain and high temperatures, which experts blame on climate change.

And where there are plants, there are pollens, starting with those produced by trees much earlier this year. Grass pollens will hang around longer and ragweed will grow faster in the fall, CBS reported.

But sufferers, take heart; you can head off the worst of it by being proactive and doing things such as checking in with your allergist, using air conditioning instead of opening the windows to get fresh air, and showering to rinse off pollen before going to bed, the CBS story said.
