College Admission Secrets Coming to Mid-Westchester JCC

SCARSDALE, N.Y. — The Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Mid-Westchester will host a special presentation on college admissions at 7 p.m. Sunday with David Marcus, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of "Accepted," and Gwyeth Smith Jr., the subject of the book.

"Marcus and Smitty have earned a reputation for helping students find the right fit for college," said Lisa Itzkowitz, director of the JCC Academic Center. 

Titled "Seven Secrets of Getting Into College," the presentation will give advice to students ranging from valedectorian to those struggling on college applications, with information on selecting a school and courses, working as a team with guidance counselors and financial aid.

The program is open to high school students and parents. A Q&A and book signing will follow the presentation.
