Walmart Slashes Jobs At Hundreds Of Stores

Walmart will eliminate invoicing and accounting jobs in hundreds of its stores in a bid to cut expenses and increase efficiency, according to a report by techtimes.com.

The company said that the so-called back-office workers will be offered customer service positions instead, the techtimes.com report said.

The cuts are targeting 500 stores, mostly in the West, and thousands are expected to lose their jobs, according to techtimes.com.

Walmart said its bookkeeping will be conducted at its headquarters in Arkansas, and machines will replace manual cash counting at the affected stores, techtimes.com’s story said.
