914 Krav Maga celebrated its grand opening this week, with a tour of the studio featuring live displays of martial arts and self-defense from local instructors and students.
According to owners Marty Fareri and Greg Melia, the Central Park Avenue location on the Yonkers border is seeking to “become the leading martial arts and kickboxing facility in Westchester County.”
The owners bring decades of experience to the facility. Melia brings more than 20 years of martial arts knowledge to teach Krav Maga, grappling techniques, Brazilian Jujitsu and Muay Thai. He will also provide children’s classes for participants between 5 and 17-years-old.
“We take the time to get to know all of our students on an individual basis,” Melia said. “We help students develop the confidence they need to succeed in both their professional and personal lives.”
Additionally, Fareri will be in charge of assessment and training programs for mature adults that will “help the older generation become functionally active and independent.”
“At 914 Krav Maga, we are dedicated to helping our students get in shape,” Fareri said. “Our programs and instructors also teach essential life lessons. Students learn about the importance and integrity and the value of hard work and dedication.”
