Overnight Snow Gone by Noon in Rye

RYE, N.Y. - Monday night's dusting of snow gave way to rain early Tuesday morning as temperatures rose to a seemingly balmy 40 degrees. By noon on Tuesday almost all of the previous evening's snow has melted into slush and wetness.

Miguel Rivas of Stamford didn't feel that Monday evening's flurries warranted shoveling.

"I didn't need to shovel," Rivas said outside of Rye Country Store, owned by Rivas' wife, in downtown Rye. "We didn't have any trouble getting to work this morning either."

According to the National Weather Service, precipitation is expected to continue through Tuesday evening and into the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing on and off for the rest of the week, with the chance of precipitation hovering around 30%.
