Dozens of tickets were dished out by New York State Police troopers during a distracted driving detail on I-684 in Northern Westchester. New York State Police troopers from the Somers barracks issued 50 vehicle and traffic tickets to drivers committing various violations on a stretch of the interstate on Saturday, Feb. 1. Buckle Up: Police Cracking Down On Unsafe Seatbelt Practices In State Parks
New York State Police will soon begin to crack down on improper and unsafe seatbelt use throughout state parks. “BUNY in the Parks” is an enforcement and educational campaign implemented by New York State Police, the New York State Park Police and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. Its goal is to help ensure that visitors of state parks are buckling up and staying safe. The campaign is also intended to teach the importance of properly securing younger visitors in approved child safety seats. Police Issue 155 Tickets During 'Buckle Up New York' Campaign In Scarsdale
Click it, or get a ticket. The Scarsdale Police Department recently participated in a two-week statewide enforcement detail targeting drivers who fail to wear their seatbelt. Scarsdale Police Capt. Edward Murphy said that during “the enforcement wave officers were looking for and ticketing adult operators.” Murphy said that during the detail, which lasted from Monday, May 20 through Monday, June 2, officers in Scarsdale issued a total of 155 tickets to motorists as part of the “Buckle Up New York” program. Police Dish Out 23 Tickets In Speed Enforcement Detail In Westchester School Zones
Nearly two dozen tickets were doled out by New York State Police troopers on Thursday as they conducted special enforcement details targeting distracted drivers speeding in school zones. On Monday, April 29, troopers conducted their enforcement detail in school zones in Westchester County. During the detail, a total of 23 tickets were dished out, 22 of which were speeding. Police Dish Out 52 Speeding Tickets In Westchester Detail
Nearly 100 motorists were ticketed on Wednesday, as New York State Police troopers conducted a special speed enforcement detail on I-684 in Northern Westchester. During the special detail on Wednesday, Jan. 10 in Bedford and North Castle, 52 motorists were cited for speeding on the interstate while another 28 were issued for failure to wear a seatbelt, distracted driving and various other vehicle and traffic infractions.
