Now-former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo granted clemency to six people on his way out of office in Albany, drawing a backlash. Cuomo, whose resignation officially took effect as of 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, commuted the sentences of four people, referred one case to the parole board, and gave another a full pardon during his final hours in office. The story of one of the greatest baseball exhibitions ever played is being told by a Northern Westchester filmmaker who will screen a documentary depicting the tale of Babe Ruth’s game at Sing Sing prison. Former Officer Convicted In Killing Outside Westchester Deli Gets Parole
A 53-year-old former officer who was convicted of killing a man over a parking spot more than two decades ago in Westchester has been granted parole. Off-duty NYPD transit officer Richard DiGuglielmo was involved in an altercation with his victim, Charlie Campbell, in Dobbs Ferry in October 1996 when Campbell parked in the “patrons only” section of DiGuglielmo’s father’s deli before heading across the street to a different eatery.
