Port Chester Attempts Second Bond Vote For $11M Middle School Repairs Port Chester schools are giving it another try, proposing an $11 million bond issue for major repairs at the district's middle school. In February, by only 53 votes, residents of the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District narrowly defeated a $12.5 million renovation project with most of the work planned at Port Chester Middle School. The second vote is 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5 in the middle school gymnasium.  A total of 940 residents voted for the project and 993 voted against it on Feb. 6, as reported here by Daily Voice.

Womack was found dead on Feb. 20 at the age of 48 of natural causes. All proceeds from the bowling tournament will go to the Byron Womack Scholarship Fund.
