Roads Expected To Reopen In Westchester Following Flooding, Hochul Says Several busy main roads in the Hudson Valley are expected to soon reopen following a severe storm system that dropped several inches of rain and resulted in historic flooding, officials said.  The expected road reopenings were announced on Wednesday afternoon, July 12 by New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who said that they will follow several days of intense repair work.  The closures were caused by a severe, slow-moving rainstorm that arrived in the region on Sunday, July 9, and dropped more than eight inches of rain in parts of the Hudson Valley.  Hudson Valley roadways expe…

ID Released For 20-Year-Old Killed Along With His Dog In Crash On Hudson Valley Roadway State Police have released the identity of a man killed along with his dog in a three-vehicle crash on the Palisades Parkway in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place in Rockland County around 10 p.m., Thursday, April 13 in Clarkstown. A stretch of the Palisades Parkway has reopened after a serious crash reportedly involving a downed tree and a car. The closure in Rockland, which started around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, June 19, on the northbound side in Stony Point, was between Route 210/Gate Hill Road (Exit 15) and Lake Welch Drive (Exit 16). The body was discovered on the southbound side near Exit 12 in Pomona at around 11 p.m. Friday, July 3. NYC Man, 26, Killed After Car Crashes Into Tree On Palisades Park A 26-year-old man was killed after losing control of his vehicle on the Palisades Parkway in Stony Point over the weekend. Jason L. Perez, of the Bronx, died following the crash that took place around 6:07 p.m., Friday, March 29 near mile marker 29, said New York State Trooper Steven Nevel. Separate crashes caused gridlock in both directions on I-87 on the new Tappan Zee Bridge and in Rockland County early Saturday evening. A crash with injuries took out the left lane at the start of the new TZB span in Westchester on northbound (Rockland-bound I-87). There were stop-and-go delays to Route 9 before the lane reopened.
