Westchester Chess Team Takes Second In National Championship Checkmate, almost. Members of the Bronxville School chess team took home the silver medal at the Under-1900 division of this year's National High School Chess Championships, which were recently held in Columbus, Ohio, marking the team’s best finish in a national event. School officials said that the students “demonstrated outstanding mental endurance and strategic planning over the course of the competition,” as they competed against 1,500 of the nation’s top players from 42 states.
