A suspect has been apprehended in connection with a Westchester hit-run that left a 35-year-old woman dead, police announced. The arrest stemmed from an incident on Monday, April 8 just before 5 a.m., when a victim was struck on Buena Vista Avenue between Main Street and Dock Street in Yonkers, according to Yonkers Police. Arriving first responders found an unconscious woman in the street and tried saving her life before rushing her to a nearby hospital. Suspect At Large After Fatal Shooting In Westchester
A suspect is at large after a fatal shooting that happened overnight at an apartment building in Westchester. It happened around 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17 in Yonkers. Officers who rushed to the scene discovered an unresponsive male victim down on the floor at 54 Fairview St. in the first-floor hallway with multiple apparent gunshot wounds to his torso, Yonkers Police said. Crews from the Yonkers Fire Department worked quickly and effectively on Monday afternoon to prevent air cooling towers weighing more than two tons from coming crashing to the ground off a building. Street Closures, Parking Restrictions Set For Annual Riverfest Event
Street closures over the weekend are expected to impact businesses and residents alike, as the city prepares for the 26th annual Riverfest. The Yonkers Police Department issued an alert warning that beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, several roadways will be closed until Riverfest ends sometime between 10 p.m. and midnight.
