Avoid Unnecessary Travel As State Expects Heavy Snow, Hochul Says
Gov. Kathy Hochul has urged New Yorkers to avoid unnecessary travel as two weather systems are expected to bring heavy snow and strong winds. Hochul said that New York City, Long Island and the Hudson Valley regions are expected to see up to six inches or more of snow, and wind gusts could reach up to 40 mph, overnight Thursday, Jan. 6, through the morning of Friday, Jan. 7. Home Destroyed During Height Of Severe Thunderstorms In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley family lost their home after a large tree took off the back half of the house during an intense thunderstorm. The incident took place around 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, in Orange County when a series of storms with high winds moved through sending the large tree crashing into the home at 8 Carpenter Road in Chester. Westchester State Of Emergency Order By Latimer Spans Several Days
With several inches of snow expected to fall hourly during the height of the Nor’easter, Westchester County Executive George Latimer declared a local state of emergency that will span several days.
