Person Standing On Platform Killed After Coming Into Contact With Train In Westchester A person was killed after coming in contact with an incoming train overnight in Westchester County. The incident took place in Westchester around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13 at the Hasting-on-Hudson station. According to MTA officials, a person standing on the platform at the station came in contact with the side of a Croton-Harmon bound train as it was approaching the station. MTA Police, Metro-North Railroad, and rescue personnel responded, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene. Metro-North Schedule Changes During Construction Set To Go Into Effect Commuters traveling on Metro-North trains may see some changes as the railroad prepares to start new scheduled work on the New Haven line. Beginning on Sunday, April 14, construction will begin on the tracks in an effort to improve reliability on the rails and improve speed in the future, causing changes to the regular schedule, the MTA announced. The schedule changes are expected to last through at least June 29. ID Released For Man Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train Metro-North officials have released the identity of a 50-year-old man who was hit and killed by a train last week. John Hickey, 50, of New Canaan, was struck and killed Thursday night near Darien, said Metro-North officials. The incident took place around 7:35 p.m. Dec. 13 at Noroton Heights. The train had departed Grand Central at 6:49 p.m. headed for New Haven. Hickey was pronounced dead at the scene.  MTA Police are investigating.
