An unlicensed man driving drunk is facing a host of charges after crashing into a Hudson Valley home, as an occupant of the residence was able to escape injury, police say.
The Rockland County incident happened around 12:50 a.m. Friday, March 31 in New City, at the residence at 9 Carnaby Ct.
The driver, Jonathan Barnes, age 37, of West Nyack drove his vehicle through two fences, before crashing into the residence, Clarkstown Police Department Detective Norman Peters said.

New Poll Reveals How NY Voters Think Gov. Hochul Is Doing Months Into First Full Term
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s approval rating dipped slightly in the second month of her first full term in office, according to a brand-new poll.
Among the state’s registered voters, Hochul holds an approval rating of 56 to 40 percent, compared to 56 to 36 percent in January, according to a Siena College poll released Monday, Feb. 27.
Hochul’s favorability also dipped slightly to 46 to 43 percent, from 48 to 42 percent in January, the poll found.

Drunk Driver Crashes Onto Railroad Tracks, Damages Vehicle In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man was driving drunk when he crashed his car onto railroad tracks, damaging his vehicle, police said.
In Ulster County, police in Saugerties were called just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, with reports of a crash on Peoples Road.
When officers arrived, they determined that 23-year-old Bilal Ahmad, of Palenville in Greene county, had driven his vehicle up onto railroad tracks after failing to negotiate a three-way intersection, Saugerties Police said.
The crash caused extensive damage to the undercarriage of Ahmad’s car.

A mother from the region is facing charges after allegedly driving drunk and crashing on the New York Thruway with her two young children in the car, state police said.
Troopers in Orange County were called at around 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, with reports of a single car crash with property damage on I-87 in the town of Newburgh.

A local woman has been arrested for alleged drunk driving with her 12-year-old child in the back seat in Northern Westchester.
The Putnam County resident Jennifer MacDonald, age 43, of Mahopac, was nabbed by Yorktown Police when officers were called to a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, Aug. 28, on East Main Street in Jefferson Valley.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered MacDonald's car slammed into a utility pole, police said.

A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk under Leandra's Law for having his two young daughters in the vehicle at the time he was stopped, State Police said.
On Saturday, July 24, just before 5:00 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in Orange County in the town of Newburgh, when the driver committed a vehicle and traffic violation.

A local woman who was arrested for a hit-and-run crash that killed a man outside a lakefront home in the area was arrested two months ago for DWI and was due to have her license suspended in several days.
Maggie DePerna, age 37, of Mahopac was charged on Saturday, June 26, with vehicular manslaughter, and two counts of DWI (she was reportedly driving drunk when arrested) in the hit-and-run death in Mahopac of James Crecco, of Carmel, on Friday, June 25, said the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Maggie Deperna, age 37, was arrested Saturday, June 26, by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office in connection to the crash that happened a day earlier in Mahopac.
She's been charged with vehicular manslaughter, the Sheriff's Office said.
