A new area code is officially coming to the region. The 845 area code is running out of potential new phone numbers - reportedly as soon as the end of the year - and some areas could soon be assigned a new area code. Officials have not disclosed what the new area code will be. New York will soon be conducting thousands of tests for coronavirus after receiving the green light from the federal government to outsource testing to private labs. Gov.
