Hero Off-Duty Firefighter Rescues Man Trapped In Car After Rollover Crash On Saw Mill Parkway
A firefighter on his way to work did what most firefighters do in a flash, rush to help someone in need, no matter the circumstances. That's what happened on Sunday, Nov. 17, when Danbury Firefighter Jeff Nolet was driving on the Saw Mill Parkway in Westchester reporting for duty on his night shift, said James A. Gagliardo, spokesman for the Danbury Fire Department. Westchester Man Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash
This story has been updated. Three people were injured during an early morning two-vehicle crash that required one to be extricated. The crash took place around 12:20 a.m. Thursday in the area of the Duchess Restaurant on Mill Plain Road, said Danbury Fire Department Spokesman James Gagliardo. First arriving police units found three people injured with one victim entrapped in a vehicle, he said. Four-Seat Airplane Forced To Make Emergency Landing At Danbury Airport
A four-seat airplane was forced to make an emergency landing late Sunday morning at the Danbury Airport and both the pilot and passenger managed to avoid suffering injuries. At approximately 11:34 a.m., Danbury Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the airport on a report of an aircraft with an in-flight emergency. The Piper Warrior apparently had a problem with its left side landing gear while performing practice landings on the runway, according to James Gagliardo, public information officer of the Danbury Fire Department. Update The 68-year-old man who went missing in Northern Westchester on Monday, Aug. 13 has been found, Bedford Police announced Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 15. A third formal search was conducted for John A. Vasile late Wednesday morning, police said, and Vasile was located - conscious and alert - within the Bedford Village hamlet.
