Community Rallies For Teen Who Tried To Defend Friend In Fatal Northern Westchester Stabbing A Northern Westchester community is rallying around a local family whose son was stabbed trying to protect his friend who was killed during the attack. Alex Leon, 18, of Peekskill, was severely injured on Saturday, Nov. 28, attempting to defend and protect his friend Joaquin Salazar who died from his injuries. Leon, who is the son of Franki Leon, the owner of Franki's Grill in Croton on Hudson, was also stabbed. Teen Arrested For Stabbing Death Of Former HS Soccer Star In Westchester A 17-year-old teen has been arrested and charged with the stabbing death of a popular area soccer star in Northern Westchester. According to the City of Peekskill Police Chief Donald Halmy, the teen, a Peekskill resident, was arraigned on a second-degree murder charge based on his role in the stabbing death of Joaquin Salazar on Saturday, Nov. 28.
