With the temperature feeling more like mid-August than September, the Garnets improved to 2-0 with an impressive, and dominating, performance on both sides of the ball.
Rye, up 35-0 midway through the third, tied the all-time series between the two teams for the first time since 1974. Saturday's win - Rye's 14th in the last 15 meetings between the rivals - put the series at 42-42-3.
Rye quarterback TJ Lavelle tossed three touchdown passes, junior RB Will Tepedino had 115 yards and a pair of TDs rushing, and Brett Egan had a score in the fourth quarter.
