Study Skills Workshop For Middle School Students Planned In Rye

RYE, N.Y. – There will be a study skills workshop for middle school students at School of the Holy Child in Rye. The workshop is offered by Successful Study Skills 4 Students and will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 20-22.

The program is based on educational research and taught by accredited teachers. Students enrolled in summer study skills workshops will learn 10 easy-to-implement skills essential for successful learning and studying. These include: goal setting, time management, note taking methods, the importance of asking questions, active reading strategies, understanding main ideas and important details, using pictures and graphic organizers, summarizing to learn, notebook organization and test preparation strategies.

The middle school workshop is appropriate for students entering grades 5-8. Workshops are limited to 15 students and the fee is $395. All materials, including a take-home folder featuring the entire outline of the workshop and other material for parental support will be provided.
