Pace Law Students Off To Fast Start In Mock Trial Competitions

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University Law students have been bringing home the gold in various mock trial and moot court competitions across the country.

The moot court team took first place in the Puerto Rican Bar Association Moot Court Competition, held on Oct. 31 in Orlando, Fla.

In this year’s Securities Dispute Resolution Triathlon, sponsored by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the Pace team won the “Excellence in Arbitration Award,” which was one of the competition's three events.

In the ABA’s Labor Law Trial Advocacy Competition, Pace's team recently won its regional round in New York, and will advance to the finals in New Orleans in late January.

Also locally, Pace's team made it to the semifinals in the Queens County District Attorney Mock Trial Competition, held at the Queens County Criminal Court in Kew Gardens this October.

A Pace student also won the award for best overall closing argument at the Judge Paul Kelly Trial Competition at Fordham Law School.
