Since 1965, Federated Conservationists has championed its motto, 'Think Globally, Act Locally' by bringing concerned citizens, community organizations, educators and diverse professionals committed to preserving and rehabilitating the natural resources of Westchester County together.
Pace Law School will be honored for its advances in environmental law, a program which began in 1980. Since then, it has become one of the premier environmental law programs in the world consistently ranked among the top four in the United States.
The school offers programs in climate change, energy studies, sustanable land development, and other disciplines. Pace faculty have been pioneers in developing and implementing environmental law and students are able advance the practice through the many externships and internships.
In addition to Pace Law School, the FCWC plans to recognize Bedford 2020 and Dr. Cynthia Rosenzweig. Bedford 2020 is a non-profit organization leading a grassroots effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 20% by the year 2020 in the town of Bedford, whiile Dr. Cynthia Rosenzweig is a Senior Research Scientist at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies where she heads the Climate Impacts Group.
