Rosario Penichet, 90, Longtime Rye Resident

RYE, N.Y. - Rosario Penichet (nee Carbajal), a longtime resident of Rye, died Sunday, Oct. 12. She was 90.

Penichet was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Havana, Cuba, to Salustiano Carbajal and Rosario Alvarez. She lived in Cuba with her family until 1960 and moved to Rye in 1962. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection in Rye.

Penichet is survived by her sons, Frederick (Teri) Penichet of Rye and Luis Andrew (Gina) Penichet of South Salem; sister, Carmen Marichal of Sound Beach; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a niece. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick L. Penichet.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 15 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Graham Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16 followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rye Brook.
