Eugene Joseph Cerbone, 91, Of Rye, Dentist

RYE, N.Y. - Eugene Joseph Cerbone, a long time resident of Pelham Manor and New Rochelle, died Aug. 12. He was 91.

Cerbone was born Dec. 24, 1921, to Joseph Eugene Cerbone and Eleanor Curcio Cerbone in the Bronx, New York. He earned a bachelors degree from St. John's University, served in World War II in the medical corp, then returned to complete his DDS from NYU School of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry together with his wife, Dr. Mary A. Cerbone in the Bronx.

Cerbone is survived by his children, Eleanor (John) Scarcella of Lavallette, N.J.; Regina (Salvatore) Grasso of Chappaqua, Annette Cerbone (Suzanne LeVan) of New York, Joseph (Rena) Cerbone of Upper Montclair, N.J., and Lisa (James) DeFillipo of Sewell, N.J.; sister, Anna Apicella; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Thursday, Aug. 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16 in Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne. Entombment to follow.
