Clifford Jaeger, 84, Of Rye, Air Force Veteran

RYE, N.Y. - Clifford Jaeger of Rye died Oct. 12. He was 84.

Jaeger was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Fall River, Mass. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years, completing six overseas assignments before retiring in 1969.

After his retirement, he was the director of loss prevention for Daitch Shopwell and the Food Emporiums for 19 years, retiring in 1988. He served as captain and executive officer of the Rye Police Reserves for 12 years and as an honorary member of the Rye Fire Department.

He was a 32nd degree Mason and a charity worker. He was a member of the American Legion, disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Jaeger is survived by his daughters, Marilyn (Richard) Barber and Debra (Robert) Slater; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Alma.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Graham Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Christ Church Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m.
