RYE, N.Y. Beatrice Newman of Rye died July 10 at her residence at The Osborn. She was 88.
Born Oct. 16, 1923, in Mannheim, Germany, she was the daughter of Herbert and Maria Nosbisch Tannenbaum. Newman worked and volunteered at the Wainright House and was a member of Rye Presbyterian Church. She was married to Thomas G. Newman.
She is survived by two daughters, Mona Phillips, of Hartsdale, and Barbara Gangemi, of West Roxbury, Mass.; a son, Dennis Newman, of Phuket, Thailand; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rye Presbyterian Church.
