Reyes body was found stuffed inside a red suitcase around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in a wood area of Greenwich by Public Works employees.

The employee who took the photos and circulated them to some will be demoted from his position as foreman of the Department of Public Works for six months, suspended without pay for five days, and give up five vacation days, according to the Greenwich First Selectman's Office, which did not name the employee.

"As this was a personnel matter, the Town will not comment further and will not confirm or deny the identity of the employee," a release said.

The employee will also be required to complete sensitivity training. An investigation into the incident found that his actions did not involve any criminal actions.

Reyes' former boyfriend, Javier Da Silva, of Queens, admitted during an interview with an FBI agent that he did bound and put Reyes, a New Rochelle resident, in a suitcase and leave it in a wooded area in Greenwich.

A criminal complaint filed in court, said Da Silva, also told New Rochelle police that on Tuesday, Jan. 29, the two had sex at her home and at some point, Reyes fell to the floor and hit her head. He said he then bound her and put her in the suitcase before placing her in his car.

According to the complaint, which said "disposed of her body, resulting in the death of the victim," it is unclear when Reyes died, before or after being put in the suitcase.

Reyes, a 2012 graduate of New Rochelle High School, worked at Barnes & Noble in Eastchester.
