Southern Westchester Under Flash Flood Watch Through Friday

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - A flash flood watch is in effect for southern Westchester County through Friday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued the alert Thursday. A slow moving low pressure system is expected to come into the area through Friday afternoon. Heavy showers and thunderstorms will become increasingly likely Thursday night, according to the forecast.

Rainfall could exceed two inches in an hour, the National Weather Service said. Overall, one to two inches of rainfall is expected to fall across the area.
