RYE, N.Y. -- Rye High and Middle schools were evacuated around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday after school officials found a threat scrawled on the wall in one of the boy's bathrooms, according to Rye Police Commissioner Michael Corcoran..

School officials notified police of the "vague" threat that mentioned a bomb before police made the decision to evacuate both schools, Corcoran said.

The Westchester County bomb squad and K-9 dogs searched both schools, but nothing of danger was found, he added.

Students were back in class by 2:15 p.m. and no one was injured, he said.

"Detectives, who took evidence from the bathroom, are actively investigating the threat," Corcoran said.
