Lt. Henry Cetina was conducting an inspection at Playland at about 4 a.m. Friday when he observed an elderly woman behind the wheel of a car in the north end of the parking lot who appeared disoriented, according to police.
The 90-year-old woman, a resident of Saddle Brook, N.J., appeared very confused after initially trying to drive away and did not know what day it was or where she was, police said.
A computer check revealed that the woman had been reported missing the previous day in New Jersey after she never arrived after leaving for a doctor’s appointment, according to police.
County police drove the woman to the George Washington Bridge, where Saddle Brook police officers were waiting to take her home.
