American Legion Post 128 led the parade down Purchase Street to the Village Green on Monday, May 26, for a program honoring those who died in combat.
The city ended the annual parade in the 1980s due to low attendance. In place of the parade, the city hosted an annual memorial ceremony on the Village Green in front of the Rye Free Reading Room.
The parade was resurrected with the assistance of Robin Phelps Latimer, president of the Ladies Auxiliary, and City Manager Scott Pickup.
