Rye Ranks Among America's Safest Towns

RYE, N.Y. -- Rye was named the 19th safest town in America by security website Safewise.com.

Safewise compiled crime statistics from the FBI and conducted its own research on public safety public health, and educational offerings to determine its rankings.

Rye reported .25 violent crimes per 1,000 residents and only 3.37 property crimes per 1,000 people.

Four other communities in Westchester made the list:

Lewisboro (No. 1)
Harrison (No. 44)
North Castle (No. 72)
Yorktown (No. 95)
