The movie, starring Meryl Streep and her daughter, Mamie Gummer, was shot at Patisserie Salzburg and Numi & Co. Hair Salon in Rye as well at DeCicco's Market in Harrison and Barney McNab's Bar in Yonkers, in addition to other locations.
You can see the Numi Salon, which has a sister location in Scarsdale, in the trailer (Streep is spinning on a chair).
In other Westchester news, Croton-on-Hudson's Audra McDonald, who plays the new wife of Streep's character's ex-husband (performed by Kevin Kline), also stars in the film, as does actor/musician Rick Springfield.
The Tristar film, written by Diablo Cody (of "Juno" fame), and directed by Nyack-based Jonathan Demme, centers on a struggling musician (Streep) who abandoned her family to find fame and fortune in California. It is loosely based on Cody's mother-in-law.
