Westchester Hosting Veterans Appreciation Day At Rye Playland

RYE, N.Y. – More than 4,000 veterans, current military members, and their supporters are anticipated to attend Westchester County’s annual Veterans Appreciation Day on Sunday at Playland Amusement Park.

The event will be held from 11:30-4 p.m. at the county-owned park in Rye, according to a press release from Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino.

The day will include a barbecue lunch, a memorial tribute, and a live performance from the Westchester Police Emerald Society Pipe and Drum Corps.

A demonstration of a Marine helicopter raid will be held at 2 p.m., weather permitting.

Playland is at One Playland Parkway, just off I-95 in Rye.
