RYE, N.Y. -- The Rye Republican Club will host its second annual Grand Old Party Summer Picnic and BBQ on June 23 at Rye Recreation's Damiano Center.
"2013 is a very important year for Republican politics and a very important year for Rye City politics in particular. We will be electing a new mayor, three council members, a county legislator and county executive this November," said Republican Club President Matt Thomas.
"Last year's picnic was an overwhelming success. We had over 125 picnickers our first time out and all three GOP primary candidates for the U.S. Senate attended. We expect to build on last year's success and look forward to having Doug French, mayor of Rye City as our featured speaker," Thomas said.
Republicans and non-Republicans are invited to attend. There will be games, face-painting for kids and food and drink for the whole family. The picnic will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Damiano Center, 281 Midland Ave. Tickets are $15 for individuals and $30 for families.
Tickets can be purchased online or by mailing a check to RCRC, Inc., P.O. Box 3, Rye, NY 10580. For more information, visit the Republican Club website or contact Club Secretary Elaine DiCostanzo at 914-522-1235 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
