Rye Arts Center Hosts Three Musical Theater Workshops

RYE, N.Y. -- Kids between the ages of 8 and 13 are invited to take part in one of three weeklong musical theater workshops this month at the Rye Arts Center.

The Arts Center will be staging three productions of "Pippin!" Over the course of a week, students will learn lines, choreography and staging for the musical. The shows will be directed by Michael Awusie, with musical direction by Cindy Moore. Teen volunteers are also wanted to help with staging, blocking and costumes.

The workshops will be held the weeks of Aug. 12, 19 and 26. Rehearsals will be held each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with 7 p.m. performances taking place at the end of each week. The fee for each workshop is $350, and you can register on the Rye Arts Center's website.
