Car Crashes Into Bear On Route 202 In Area
Police are on the scene of a car vs. bear crash in the area. The crash took place earlier Thursday morning, Sept. 12, in Rockland County when the bear darted in front of the vehicle on Route 202 between Grandview Avenue and Kimmissy Court in Ramapo. After being hit, the bear wandered into the woods, Ramapo Police said. The sole occupant of the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp and Hatzoloh Ambulance were at the scene. Officers said they will be checking the woods and yards in the area in an attempt to locate the injured bear.&nbs…

Man With 12 License Suspensions Involved In Westchester Crash, Police Say
A wanted man with a dozen suspensions on his license was involved in a crash at a busy Westchester intersection, police said. Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department responded to the intersection of Popham Road and Post Road at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, where there was a report of a crash. Police said that the driver of a blue Ford Fiesta involved in the crash, Larchmont resident Daniel Joseph, 37, was able to provide a New York State non-drive ID, though he did not possess a valid driver’s license. Second Crash Into Pole Near House Sparks Concern For Dobbs Ferry Resident
When an alleged drunk driver slammed into a utility pole earlier this week, splitting the pole in half and sending a ball of fire flying, it was the last straw for Adam Kanzer. The same thing happened three months ago near Kanzer's home in Dobbs Ferry -- the same pole, only this time it was a teenage driver who lost control. Chappaqua's Hillary Clinton Involved In Crash En Route To Speaking Event
Former First Lady, Secretary of State and U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton was involved in a crash on her way to a speaking engagement on Tuesday. According to the Jersey City police, the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate and longtime Chappaqua resident was not injured and declined medical care when the Secret Service vehicle she was riding in was involved in the crash. Bear Struck, Killed On Highway In Area
A bear was struck and killed by a vehicle on I-84 in Newtown on Saturday, causing minor injuries to the occupants. According to Chris Collibee, a spokesman for DEEP, the department was notified by the state police that the 80-pound untagged bear was hit around 7 p.m. on the westbound side of the roadway. "Bears being struck by vehicles is extremely common with roughly 50 to 60 per year being hit," Collibee said. Man Suffers Head Injury After Being Hit By Car Near Westchester Hospital
A man was hospitalized and seriously injured after being struck by a car outside Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla on Tuesday morning. A Westchester County Police spokesman confirmed that shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 20, a man in his 70s was walking on Woods Road near the hospital when he attempted to cross in front of the traffic and was struck by a car, leaving him with a head injury.
