Former Fire Chief Of Westchester Department Dies: 'Exemplified Meaning Of Brother' A former fire chief and Navy veteran from Northern Westchester is being remembered for his dedication to his town throughout his 53-year department membership.  Robert H. Meyer, the former chief of the Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, died on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at the age of 88, according to his obituary.  Before becoming a firefighter, Meyer began his career in 1953 as an electrician in the Navy until he was honorably discharged in 1957. Former Westchester Priest Named In Sex Abuse Case A former Hudson Valley priest who was thrown out of the church for sexually abusing a teenager has been named in a separate abuse case from years ago. Daniel Calabrese was one of 10 former priests who have been charged with sexually abusing a then 13-year-old boy while he was a student at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, according to a Westchester court filing. It is alleged that Calabrese took the teenager into the showers at the school and sexually assaulted him. The teen later realized that the abuse was likely premeditated, the court documents state.
