A massive search for an 18-year-old teen who was reportedly seen in the Hudson River yelling for help failed to find the man. The incident took place around 3:20 p.m., Monday, March 9, when the City of Poughkeepsie Police received multiple 911 calls about a male drowning in the river, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark. Police said on Monday the area of the search was behind the pavilion at the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum. Woman Dies After Driving Vehicle Into Hudson River in Westchester
This story has been updated. A woman has died after driving her vehicle into the Hudson River in Westchester. The incident took place around 12:45 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, near a riverside park in Verplanck, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. The woman was discovered in the car in about 10 feet of water by divers from Yorktown Heights, he said. Due to a strong drift, it took searchers a while to located the vehicle. Search For Missing Man Causes Closures Of Area Lake
Lake Carmel is closed to swimmers and boaters as emergency responders search for a missing man. The Lake Carmel Fire Department said it was dispatched on a report of a missing swimmer at around 7:35 p.m. Saturday, July 20. The man has been identified as a Connecticut resident in his 50s. The department was assisted in the search by the Carmel Fire Department, Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department dive team and Putnam County Sheriff's Department, Kent Police. A 48-year-old woman who police had been searching for since Thursday has been found dead in the Hudson River and identified. Jennifer Kavanagh was found Sunday morning by the Piermont Police dive team near the end of the Piermont Pier, said the Piermont Police. The body of a 53-year-old woman who jumped from the Mid-Hudson Bridge between Highland and Poughkeepsie was pulled from the Hudson River on Monday afternoon after a two-and-a-half hour search, authorities said.
