A police department in Westchester has a new chief following the retirement of its former leader after over four decades as an officer. Following the retirement of Chief John Costanzo, the Tuckahoe Police Department has named Lieutenant Larry Rotta as its new leader, the department announced on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Retired Police Chief In Hudson Valley Dies
A retired police chief who spent more than 40 years with his department in the Hudson Valley has died. Kevin Nulty, who served as Orangetown police chief from 1997 until he retired in 2019, has died, according to an announcement from the Orangetown PBA on Monday, March 14. Nulty joined the police department as an officer in 1976. "For 43 years he served our community proudly, with 23 of them being Chief," Orangetown PBA said. "Our membership sends our prayers to his wife Ann and his family during this difficult time, and our condolences to those who knew and loved him.

Former Police Chief In Area Dies At Age 48
A former Hudson Valley police chief has died just five years after his retirement. Former Tuxedo Police Chief Patrick Welsh died at the age of 48, officials said. A cause of death was not given. Welsh joined the department as a part-time dispatcher in February 1994, became a town officer in 1997, was promoted to sergeant in 2001 and to chief in 2009. He retired in 2016 from injuries sustained during the line of duty, city officials said at the time of his retirement. Welsh leaves behind a wife and four children. Services have not been announced.

Harrison Names Fourth Police Chief In Four Years
There’s a new sheriff in town. For the fourth time in four years, the Town of Harrison has appointed a new police chief, this time turning to a familiar face to fill the shoes of Joseph Yasinski, who retired in October. Harrison Police Lt. John Vasta, who has been with the Harrison Police Department for more than two decades, will officially take over as chief of police after serving in the role as interim chief for two months following Yasinski’s retirement.
