A 34-year-old mother of twin boys who worked registering new patients at a Queens hospital recently died from COVID-19 complications. Prea Nankieshore, who worked in the emergency room section of Jewish Hospital Forest Hills, died on Sunday, April 5. She lived with her parents in Ozone Park. Nankieshore did not have any underlying conditions that could contribute to her death. Man Sentenced For Hit-Run That Killed Tow-Truck Driver In Westchester
The box truck driver responsible for the fatal hit-and-run crash on I-95 that took the life of tow-truck driver Salvatore Brescia has been sentenced in Westchester County Court. Ozone Park resident Anthony Mangano, 53, has been sentenced to the 12 months he has already spent in the Westchester County Jail after pleading guilty to a felony count of leaving the scene of a personal injury incident resulting in a death, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced on Wednesday. Stuck Breakneck Ridge Teen Hiker Issued A Ticket Following Rescue
A 19-year-old who had to be rescued after becoming struck high on a trail on Breakneck Ridge, a mountain along the Hudson River between Beacon and Cold Spring, was issued a ticket after he was back to safety. According to State Park Police, the department received word around 5:30 p.m. Thursday that the teen from Ozone Park, was hiking on the White Trail when he ventured off-trail in an attempt to get the Yellow Trail, said Randy Simons, spokesman for the New York State Park Police.
