Westchester IDA To Consider Incentives For $1B In New Projects
The Westchester County Industrial Development Agency is considering granting a series of incentives for three large-scale projects throughout Downtown White Plains that would result in more than $1.2 billion in new developments, as discussed on Friday, March 29. The business property at 465 Columbus Ave. in Valhalla is more than 92 percent occupied with some high-profile public and private tenants -- including medical companies and state agencies. Prime Vacant Office Space Soars To 62 Percent In Northern Westchester
According to the latest quarterly report by JLL, the vacancy rate for office space has hit 62 percent in Northern Westchester, more than three times higher than submarkets in southern Westchester, which have a combined vacancy rate of approximately 20 percent. JLL's research from the third quarter of 2017 also founds rents are down in general and that countywide, the vacancy rate is nearing 25 percent -- nearly five percent higher than 2013.
