19: New York Sees Number Of Vaccinations Administered Triple
The number of COVID-19 vaccinations being administered across New York has nearly tripled this week after a slow initial roll out over the first month the vaccine was available. This past week, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo expressed frustration that some hospitals had been slow to begin administering the vaccine to healthcare workers, employees, and residents in nursing homes. In the first three weeks the vaccine was made available, New York hospitals used less than half of their allotment of initial doses, with 10,809 vaccines being administered daily. 19: Westchester Mayor Calls Out Hospital For Low Vaccine Performance
A mayor in one of Westchester’s largest cities is calling for better performance from Montefiore after it was made public that it had the lowest vaccination rate in the state of New York. This week, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo highlighted the top and bottom performing hospitals in administering the allocations of vaccines provided to them, with some reaching 100 percent efficiency and Montefiore Mount Vernon at the bottom of the list with an 11 percent vaccination rate. 19: Nurses At Westchester Hospital Strike Over Contract Negotiations
Nurses at one of Westchester’s largest hospitals went on strike following more than a year of attempting to negotiate a new contract with little progress.
